Last week, we stepped away from our desks and headed to Rabbit Hole Wellness in Langley, BC. It wasn’t your typical office retreat – it was a day filled with cold plunges, meditation, and a chance to reconnect as a team. The experience was about recharging both personally and professionally, while also providing an opportunity to relax.

Before we arrived, Tyrell, our host for the day, asked us a simple yet thought-provoking question: “What is a theme or area of focus in your life you’re currently investing in?” It prompted us to reflect on where we’re directing our energy, both at work and at home, and how that ties into becoming the best version of ourselves.

We spent time at the beginning of the afternoon diving into the Deep End Mindset Roadmap & Toolkit, a framework Tyrell introduced to help us boost resilience and energy. The focus was on reflection – an often overlooked but essential tool for navigating both life and work. After this experience, it’s something we’re all planning to make more time for.

The Cold Plunge

The cold exposure lived up to its name. Stepping into the plunge pool was intense, but after pushing through the initial shock, the clarity and focus it brought was undeniable. It reminded us that growth often happens when we step outside our comfort zones, just like in the workplace.

After each cold plunge, we warmed up in the sauna. The contrast between the heat and cold helped us balance energy with relaxation, leaving us feeling both calm and invigorated.

Guided Meditation

Tyrell led us through a 30-minute guided meditation that was incredibly peaceful and exactly what we needed to wrap up the day. His calm voice, paired with soothing music and breathing exercises, created the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. It gave us the space to step back and reflect on what we had experienced earlier. The meditation wasn’t just about relaxing; it gave us time to think about how we could actually use the toolkit moving forward. Whether it’s dealing with stress at work, staying focused during busy times, or improving our overall energy levels, we all left with ideas on how to put these insights into action.

Some of us got so relaxed that we drifted off to sleep (yes, it was that calming), while others came out of it feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. Either way, it was the perfect way to finish the retreat. We all agreed that adding meditation to our daily routines is something worth doing, and it’s amazing to see how just 30 minutes of guided focus can make such a huge difference in mental clarity and well-being.

Throughout the retreat, we stayed refreshed with Tyrell and Natasha’s homemade rhubarb kombucha, a delicious drink that kept us going between activities. As we wrapped up the day, we bought handcrafted items from Natasha, including beautifully scented candles, room sprays, and diffusers. All of these were made on the farm and added a personal touch to an already special day.

Lasting Impact

This retreat wasn’t just about unwinding; it was about resetting. We left Rabbit Hole Wellness feeling recharged, refocused, and ready for the challenges ahead. The lessons we took away – whether from the cold plunge, the meditation, or the moments of reflection – have given us new tools to help us thrive both at work and in our personal lives.

If you’re looking for a retreat that blends wellness with personal and professional growth, Rabbit Hole Wellness is a place we highly recommend.
