Managing a busy early learning centre comes with unique challenges—from creating quiet zones for children needing a break to maintaining a productive workspace for staff. At EverGreen Early Learning Centre in Abbey, Saskatchewan, Inbox Booths have become an essential part of their environment, offering both functional and flexible spaces tailored to their needs.
Supporting Child Development with Sensory Rooms
When EverGreen installed two Inbox Booths, they found creative ways to enhance their learning environment. One booth became a sensory and calm room—a dedicated area where children can relax, self-regulate, and engage in quiet activities.
“We use one of our booths as a sensory and calm room. It’s been incredibly useful for different activities around the centre—even as a place for awake kids to hang out during nap time while we keep an eye on the sleeping children through the glass. The soundproofing means we don’t have to worry about being too quiet.”
By providing a space where children can reset while still feeling connected to their surroundings, the sensory booth has become an essential part of the centre’s daily operations.
Enhancing Staff Productivity
The second booth at EverGreen became a dedicated office space. For staff handling administrative tasks, the soundproof design allows for focused work while keeping a clear view of the learning environment.
“I love our office booth because its glass walls let me keep an eye on the room while still having a quiet space to get my work done. I can still hear if something important happens, but the noise is much more muted.”
With a balance of visibility and privacy, the office booth has helped streamline daily tasks without removing staff from the classroom environment. Its mobility also means it can be relocated as the centre’s layout evolves.
Adapting for Unique Needs
EverGreen’s experience highlights how Inbox Booths can be customized to fit diverse applications beyond typical office use. They suggested thoughtful improvements like an optional third solid wall or the ability to purchase booths without built-in accessories for more open space.
“We chose not to include the table or chair in the sensory room booth, as we prefer keeping the space open. This way, children can sit on the floor and use calming tools they choose to help them relax.”
Transform Your Learning Environment
Inbox Booths aren’t just for offices or universities—they’re adaptable for any environment that needs flexible, quiet, and productive spaces. Whether you run an early learning centre, library, or coworking space, our booths can be tailored to your unique requirements.
