Inbox Booths began with a simple yet pressing need: more private spaces in the office. Reuben and Scot, university buddies, former roommates, and seasoned entrepreneurs, found themselves constantly battling the noise and distractions in their busy office. With their team—their biggest investment—struggling to do their best work amidst the noise, they knew they had to solve this problem.

Their initial challenge was creating meeting rooms that could accommodate every type of working style, from those needing quiet, focused spaces to those driven by social interaction and collaboration. 

This need led them to redesign their office space. During this process, they were introduced to modular solutions and instantly fell in love with the concept. They realized it could serve as a cost-effective alternative to expensive construction. 

However, the market was lacking a solution that combined high quality with affordability. Every soundproof booth available would take months to arrive, and they couldn’t wait that long. That’s when Reuben and Scot realized they could do better. Their frustration with the lack of immediate, affordable options sparked their entrepreneurial spirit, leading to the creation of Inbox Booths. They set out to design modular meeting rooms that weren’t just available, but also met their high standards of quality and cost-efficiency.

Launching Inbox Booths

Launching the business wasn’t without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was educating potential customers about the benefits of office pods. “We launched our first booth—the Quad and One+—in 2020, amidst a lot of uncertainty. However, the need for private, quiet spaces became more apparent during the pandemic, helping us gain traction,” said Reuben. 

Then, COVID-19 came into play. While it created uncertainty, it also highlighted the need for quiet, separate spaces for remote work and virtual meetings. This shift in work dynamics helped increase the demand for their products. 

“We entered the market at the right time,” said Scot. “The timing of our launch, just as the world was adapting to new ways of working, played an important role. People were becoming aware of modular workspaces and the need for office pods like Inbox Booths.”
